This 25-gram bag of Orange Copper Metallic Paint Pigment – Candy Pearl powder is perfect for creating custom tinted clears and opaque metallic finishes in custom paint or powder-coating applications. It’s guaranteed to mix well with any clear paints or tinted candy paints and has a temperature threshold of 400 degrees Fahrenheit. It is a very fine powder and will spray easily through airbrushes, powder guns, and HVLP paint guns. Because it is extremely light, it stays well mixed in paint without settling too quickly in your gun, and it can make a range of effects from light to heavy (it’s your choice). One 25-gram bag of Orange Copper Metallic Paint Pigment – Candy Pearl treats from 1 to 2 quarts of clear. At Pearls and Pigment, we pride ourselves on the quality of our candy pigments. These are made from quality metallic Iron Mica colored pigments that have a good deal of their own iridescence built right in. However, the mixture of our candy pigments will never be truly transparent, as they are solid particles of mica and iron. This doesn’t mean you can’t achieve a good degree of transparency, but you will achieve total coverage after several coats, which will prevent you from being able to see whatever is underneath. We suggest that you use about 1/2 of one of our bags per quart of base clear or inter-coat clear. Using a full bag per quart will create a more opaque colored metallic pearl paint. You can also use our candy paint pearls to create your own chameleon paint pigments, by mixing them with different ghost pearl paint pigments. This is usually done at a 3 to 1 ghost-to-candy paint ratio, sprayed in about 5 coats. Please note that this type of mixing is not something for inexperienced users, but is better suited to a skilled pro who has the common sense to spray test panels before starting on an entire project. We recommend using 1 bag per quart of sprayable clear for an opaque metallic finish. For a more translucent candy-type paint, use 1 bag to 2 quarts of sprayable clear.
