- Ideal for use with airbrushes, HVLP guns, brushes, powder coating equipment, dip sprayers, concrete sealing, leather wipe-on coatings, and plastic manufacturing.
- Micro Flake (.004″) is the easiest to spray, providing seamless coverage and high-impact results with no knockdown.
- Mini Flake (.008″) delivers a bolder, eye-catching flash, perfect for those seeking a more dramatic effect.
- Bass Boat Flake (.015″) is the best choice for creating that classic, 70’s-style big flake look, perfect for those who love that retro feel.
- Our Flake has a temperature tolerance up to 400 degrees, making it ideal for use under heat lamps and in powder coating booths.
- A little goes a long way! About one tablespoon per quart is usually enough – “One Jar Does a Car.”
- Our Flake is solvent resistant and can be used in automotive paint, nail polish, dip, epoxy concrete sealers, water-based coatings, powder coatings, fiberglass, and even Elmer’s Glue®.
We now provide all sizes of Flake in many of our most popular colors. We personally like the small Flake because they are so easy to use, but we also know that many people out there want the larger metal Flake look, so we’re happy to give you that choice as well. Creating a great indigo metal flake paint job is super simple with our Flake. Start by choosing your base coat (black is ideal if you want the paint to take on the color of the Flake), and then add a heaping tablespoon of our flake to any base clear coat (although we do recommend a base clear for mixing the flake into, such as PPG’s DBC-500 or HOK’s intercoat clear). Despite being called “Indigo metal flake” additives, our Flake is made from special solvent-resistant polyesters that can withstand the chemicals in clear coat. Please refer to our tips pages or download our instructional PDF for more information. Remember that, unlike some flake paint systems where you dust the flake onto wet clear coat and spend 400 bucks for 20 jars of flake just to paint a single auto, our system is much more efficient. As we say around here, “One jar paints a car.” All of our products are compatible with car paint, making them key to creating a fantastic custom paint job. You can also use our full line as an epoxy pigment on tables and in resin applications. Our pearl paint and candy paint pigments are extremely versatile and easy to use in any clear paint application. Give them a try! Try this in epoxy resin, polishes, sealers, or other coatings for an incredible custom finish! Our additives are fully compatible with vehicle wrap, and we were also the first to supply dip companies with pigments. If you have any questions about whether or not our products work in vehicle coatings, know that we were the pioneers who introduced Pearls to the world. For years we have been a leading supplier of metallic paint pigments, pearl pigment, candy paint, and Temperature Changing Paint for your custom paint jobs.
