We now offer all sizes of Flake in our most popular colors. While we personally appreciate the ease of the smaller Flake, we know there are plenty of people out there who want the bold effect that comes with a larger metal Flake, so we are offering you all of the options. Creating a great Fire Red metal flake paint job is really easy with our Flake. Simply choose your base coat (black is ideal for allowing the Flake’s color to shine) and add a heaping tablespoon of our Flake to any base clear coat (although we recommend using a base clear for mixing the flake into, such as PPG’s DBC-500 or HOK’s intercoat clear). Keep in mind that, even though they are called “Fire Red metal flake” additives, our Flake is made from special solvent-resistant polyesters that can withstand the chemicals in clear coat.
