Product Uses

Automotive Paint or Coatings

Use any of our ghost pearls, candy pearls, chameleons, or metal Flake in your next custom paint job. By using our automotive paint tips, you can save yourself thousands of dollars in some cases, and hundreds of dollars in most cases — while still achieving the same end result. A perfect custom paint job is within your reach.

Powder Coating

Our Phantom Pearls, Candy Color Pearls, and most of our Metallic Paint Flake are temperature-rated to around 400 degrees F, making them excellent additives for clear powder coatings. You can create a true custom paint look on any powder-coating project with our additives. You can also use our products to color-match your automotive paint to your powder coat. We even have one powder coater who uses our Thermochromic pigments in a low-heat cure powder coat. Start with one bag of pigment (25 grams) per pound of clear powder. You can go to 2 pounds, depending on the amount of color saturation you want. All of our pigments are compatible with clear powder coat. Please note that the thermochromic pigment and the chameleon Flake (in jars) have a lower temperature threshold, so if using them, make sure you only use them in low heat cure powder.

Gel Coat

Use our Phantom Pearls, Candy Color Pearls, Chameleons, and Metallic Paint Flake in your fiberglass gel coat to add a metallic sparkle to your surfboard, boat, outrigger, or any other fiberglass project. You can even create a pearl bathtub. The possibilities are endless. If you work with fiberglass, we’re here to help.

Reflective Coatings

Using our ghost pearls (especially the Silver Phantom Pearl), you can create special reflective coatings for street signs, home theater screens, and even license plate paint (to fool those traffic cameras!). Reflective coatings are most commonly used for safety. We also have a safety reflective grey and safety white pigment available.

Plastics Manufacturing

Our ghost pearls and candy pearls can make a great product look even better by adding the pigments directly into the raw melted plastics before molding. You will see this effect on thousands of different products from toys and electronics to plastic jars and bottles.

Theatrical Set Paint

Under stage lights, metallic paints not only create visually stunning sets, but can also create a visual reality for metal architecture, such as bronze statues or copper roofing. You can even create realistic water effects with different shades of blue, violet, and green ghost pearls.

Faux Finish Paint and Glaze

Create professional-looking effects with our Phantom Pearls, Candy Color Pearls, Metallic Paint Flake, and even our thermochromic pigments. By adding them directly into a faux finish glaze, you can create rustic aged looks, realistic copper trim, oceanic views, and so much more!

Leather and Fabrics

Our pearls are extremely versatile, and can be mixed into leather paint (some of our customers use varnish or clear coat), clear shoe polish, and many use our product for screen printing, creating T-shirts with a metallic quality.

Concrete and Tile Sealer

Many of our customers are making custom bar tops, bathrooms, and even flooring with our pearls, candies, and Flake, which are all mixed inside of concrete sealer. Many use these to transform slate tiles to look like mother of pearl, while custom concrete kitchen counter builders are using our products. You may even see our products used on concrete flooring in large grocery stores. The possibilities for concrete and tile are truly endless.

For years we have been selling metallic paint pigments, pearl pigment, candy paint, and Temperature Changing Paint for your custom paint jobs.
