  • Excellent for airbrush, HVLP guns, brush-on applications, powder coating equipment, dip sprayers, concrete sealing, leather wipe-on coatings, and plastic manufacturing.
  • Micro Flake (.004″) is the easiest to spray and provides seamless coverage, high impact results, and no knockdown.
  • Mini Flake (.008″) provides a bolder flash for those who don’t mind working a bit harder for more drama.
  • Bass Boat Flake (.015″) is ideal if you want to get that iconic 70’s-style big flake look and are ready to work for it.
  • Our Flake has a temperature tolerance of 400 degrees, making them perfect for use under heat lamps and in powder coating booths.
  • A little goes a long way! Typically one tablespoon per quart is all that’s needed – “One Jar Does a Car.”
  • Our Flake is solvent resistant and can be used in automotive paint, nail polish, dip, epoxy concrete sealer, water-based coatings, powder coatings, fiberglass, and even Elmer’s Glue®.

We now offer all sizes of Flake in our most popular colors. While we personally like the small Flake because of the ease of use, many of you like a larger metal Flake, so we are happy to give you that option. Creating a gorgeous Peacock metal flake paint job is super simple with our Flake. Just choose your base coat (black works best if you want the paint to truly take on the color of the Flake) and add a heaping tablespoon of our flake to any base clear coat (we recommend using a base clear for mixing the flake into, such as PPG’s DBC-500, or HOK’s inter coat clear). It is important to know that although they are called “Peacock metal flake” additives, our Flake is made from special solvent-resistant polyesters that will withstand the chemicals in the clear coat. See our tips pages or download our instructional PDF for more information. Our system is far more efficient than some systems where people dust flake onto wet clear-coat dry and spend around 400 dollars for 20 jars of flake to paint a single car. As we say around here, “One jar paints a car.” We recommend starting with 1 heaping tablespoon of flake per sprayable quart of clear paint/binder or per pound of clear powder coat. These are starting ratios and can be adjusted for your specific project. If you have any questions you can always contact us or visit our FAQ page. All of our products work with car paint and are key to achieving a truly great custom paint job. Our full line can be used as an epoxy pigment on tables and in resin applications. Our pearl paint and candy paint pigments are very versatile and easy to use in any clear paint application. Give them a try! Consider using this in epoxy resin, polishes, sealers, and other coatings for a stunning custom result! Not only are all of our additives completely compatible with vehicle wrap, but we were also the first to supply dip companies with pigments.
