- Great for use with airbrushes, HVLP guns, brushes, powder coating equipment, dip sprayers, concrete sealing, leather wipe-on coatings, and plastic manufacturing.
- Micro Flake (.004″) is the easiest to spray, with seamless coverage, high-impact results, and no knockdown.
- Mini Flake (.008″) gives you more flash for those willing to put in a little extra work.
- Bass Boat Flake (.015″) is perfect for anyone who wants to create that classic, 70’s-style big flake look and is willing to work for it.
- Our Flake has a temperature tolerance up to 400 degrees, making them perfect for use under heat lamps and in powder coating booths.
- A little goes a long way! Usually about a tablespoon per quart is all that’s needed – “One Jar Does a Car.”
- Our Flake is solvent resistant and can be used in automotive paint, nail polish, dip, epoxy concrete sealer, water-based coatings, powder coatings, fiberglass, and even Elmer’s Glue®.
We now offer all sizes of Flake in many of our most popular colors. While we personally like the small Flake because of the ease of use, we also know that many customers want larger metal Flake, so we are giving you those options.
Creating a fantastic Jet Black metal flake paint job is simple with our Flake. Choose your base coat (black is excellent if you want the paint to take on the color of the Flake), and then add a heaping tablespoon of our flake to any base clear coat (although we recommend using a base clear for mixing the flake into, like PPG’s DBC-500 or HOK’s intercoat clear).
Even though they are called “Jet Black metal flake” additives, most of our Flake is made from special solvent-resistant polyesters that can withstand the chemicals in clear coat.
