While we love the ease of use of our small Flake, we know that a lot of people want that larger, more dramatic metal Flake look, so we want to give you a range of options. Creating a gorgeous Candy Apple Red metal flake paint job is super simple with our Flake. Simply choose your base coat (black is good if you want the paint to really show the color of the Flake) and add a heaping tablespoon of our flake to any base clear coat (we recommend using a base clear for mixing, like PPG’s DBC-500 or HOK’s inter coat clear). Although these are called “Apple Red metal flake” additives, our Flake is made from special solvent-resistant polyesters that will withstand the chemicals in clear coat.
